The foreigner has a special place amongst Yisrael and the Most High, Yahweh has several mitzvots that instruct the Children of Yisrael to treat the foreigner with respect and dignity. The concept to keep in mind is "community", and the foreigner is defined as a part of the the collective body of the Nation of Yisrael.
